Notice of Public Hearing for South Harbor Funding on July 10, 2014




            Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to be held on behalf of the Tri-City Regional Port District (the “Port District”) on July 10, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., in the Main Conference Room, 1635 West First Street, Granite City, Illinois 62040, with respect to the captioned Note to be issued by the Port District in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $16,500,000.  The proceeds of the Note will be used for (a) the construction of the Port District’s South Harbor including a general cargo bulkhead dock, a truck and rail loadout facility, mooring structures and dock barges, to be located just south of Lock No. 27 on the Mississippi River just north from downtown St. Louis, Missouri (the “Project”); and (b) funding a debt service reserve fund.  The Project will be a key element of the Port District’s intermodal transit gateway and will connect major rail lines and four interstate highways with a lock-free, public inland waterway of national and regional significance. The Project will be owned by the Port District.  The Note is not payable out of taxes and is payable solely from revenues of the Port District.

All interested persons are invited to attend such public hearing to express their views with respect to the Project and the Note.  Any interested persons unable to attend the hearing may submit their views in writing to the Executive Director of the Port District prior to the date scheduled for the hearing at fax number 618-452-3402.  This notice is published and the hearing is held in satisfaction of the requirements of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.
