Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and St. Clair County officials announce the opening of the new North Bay Produce Warehouse

The refrigerated facility, capable of freezing up to 120 tons of blueberries and other fruits and vegetables, was opened by North Bay Produce. The warehousing operation will serve as a conduit for berries and other fruit grown across north and south America. When fully operational, the warehouse will have 80 jobs and serve as a gateway to provide fruits and vegetables to China and other markets. The warehouse’s central location allows for better transportation costs and increases the time the products can be made available to consumers. Much of the product stored in the facility will come via the airport. MidAmerica Airport serves as part of Foreign Trade Zone #31 which operates out of America’s Central Port.
